Year Two For Grow On Windsor

The Windsor Essex Cancer Centre Foundation is hoping to double the funds raised in the second annual Grow On Windsor campaign.

The campaign raises funds and awareness for cancer research and treatment in the Windsor/Essex area.

"Grow your beards, grow 'staches, you want to grow a unibrow feel free to grow a unibrow but also keep in mind that you're doing this because it could be your brother, it could be your father that could one day be diagnosed with cancer and if they're living in this community we want to give them the best possible care," says Houida Kassem, manager & director of development with the Windsor Essex Cancer Centre Foundation.

Last year's campaign raised $220,000 which helped to purchase equipment like a bladder scanner, vital machine monitors, IV poles, brachy therapy equipment and a immobilization system used for radiation treatment.

Windsor Essex residents Lisa and Brian Schwab are the official sponsor of the 2016 Grow On campaign. Schwab is challenging community businesses to get involved like his company Cypher Systems Group did in the 2015 campaign.
