Essex County flag. (Photo by Mike Vlasveld)The County of Essex reports there is a tentative agreement in place with CUPE Local 2974 which represents 48 county and Essex-Windsor Solid Waste Authority inside/outside staff.
"We are extremely pleased that we were able to come to an agreement," says Brian Gregg in a news release, CAO for the County of Essex.
Talks began a few months ago, intensifying in the last few weeks before a deal was reached on Wednesday.
The union has a strike date set for November 4.
