Essex Region Conservation New Identity

Conservation in the region has a new identity.

The Essex Region Conservation Authority and the Essex Region Conservation Foundation have launched a new logo and slogan to show how they jointly protect the environment in the area. Together they will be known as the Essex Region Conservation but they will also maintain their separate identities.

"We're strengthening the relationships and we're also creating a greater awareness of not just the organizations but the important work that we do," says General Manager Richard Wyma.

Over the last 40 years, the organizations have helped to create nearly 100 acres of trails throughout the region and have increased tree over from 3% to just over 8%.

Wyma says the rebranding is about a lot more than just a visual presence.

"The idea that we're really trying to get across is that this is 'the place for life' so this isn't just about new logos, it's not about new colours, it's not about any of that it's about a new way of thinking about the work that we do," says Wyma.

The new logo will be phased in throughout the trails and conservation areas as signs need replacing.

Essex Region Conservation is asking residents to get involved with its new campaign by sharing through social media what makes this region "the place for life."
