Parking Enforcement Officers in Windsor say they issued 32 tickets during an enforcement blitz Wednesday morning.
Parking Enforcement is cracking down on illegal stopping and parking near schools, and Wednesday, officers were ticketing drivers near Walkerville Collegiate Institute and St. Anne Separate School.
This is the third blitz since the beginning of the school year. An earlier blitz outside Vincent Masse Secondary School resulted in 35 tickets, while just one ticket was issued in a second.
The blitz will continue at 2pm Wednesday afternoon, and City of Windsor Supervisor of Compliance and Enforcement Bill Kralovensky says more enforcement efforts are likely at other schools across the city.
The effort is to improve safety for both drivers and pedestrians by improving site lines near schools by discouraging drivers from parking and stopping where they are not supposed to.
