Special garbage pick-up dates have been set in Windsor, Tecumseh and Lakeshore to deal with flooding debris created from this past week's record rainfall.
In Windsor, the city has set Friday beginning at 6am as the day for the service to help residents living east of Walker Rd. who suffered water damage.
An additional pick-up day will be added if there's too much debris for crews to take away.
The city asks residents living west of Walker Rd. who experienced flooding this past week to call 311 to register for collection.
The city advises flood damage materials include mattresses, appliances, rugs — which are to be cut and bundled in 4 ft lengths — furniture and building materials — which also need to be bundled, bagged or placed in pails. Nails need to be removed from all wood and dry wall while appliances should have their doors secured shut.

Collection crews won't be picking up loose material and garbage bags shouldn't weigh more than 44 lbs. Bags are also to be placed side-by-side and not stacked on top of each other.
The city is waiving the hard-sided garbage container by-law for this special collection only.
Other household chemicals are not ot be placed at the curb.
In Tecumseh, the original yard waste pick-up date is being switched immediately with the flood debris pick-up. There will be limited waste pick-up on Tuesday as well.
Regularly scheduled waste pick-up continues on Thursday.
In Lakeshore, residents are asked to have their flood damaged debris out on the standard garbage day.
Residents are asked to remove nails and other hazards from construction materials, such as paneling, that's put out on the curb.
Neither electronics or appliances like refrigerators will be collected at the curb during this collection period. Residents are asked to bring electronics to Transfer Station #1 while other goods can be scheduled for pick-up by calling Windsor Disposal Services at 519-944-8009.
