The local public and Catholic school boards are cancelling buses this afternoon because of heavy flooding on area roads.
The Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board is cancelling buses at St. Pius and St. Andre elementary schools in Tecumseh. Parents are asked to pick their children up at regular dismissal time.
The Greater Essex County District School Board has cancelled buses for DM Eagle, AV Graham and Tecumseh Vista Academy for both elementary and secondary students.
In a news release, the GECDSB says all bus routes north from County Rd. 22 to Riverside Dr. and between Banwell Rd. and Pike Creek Rd. have been cancelled for this afternoon.
At Tecumseh Vista Academy, there are eight elementary buses and 12 secondary buses cancelled. The elementary buses cancelled are as follows: 107, 110, 112, 130, 137, 174, 195 and 9178. The secondary buses cancelled are as follows: 110, 123, 137, 146, 164, 174, 185, 190, 195, 196, 8199 and 9441.
Students will be held at school until they are picked up.
