Windsor Girl's TPP Concerns Won't Be Ignored

Jada Malott isn't letting her tender age, or what could be interpreted as a pat on the head from Canada's top government official, stop her from launching a full campaign against the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

The 12-year-old Windsor girl says she's planning a trip to Ottawa the first week of October, and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau might want to take her seriously.

"I sent him a letter once, and he just fluffed me off," she says.

Malott wants the prime minister to come to Windsor and explain why his government supports the trade pact.

In her opinion, past trade deals, like the North American Free Trade Agreement, have caused enough damage, so she's not standing by idling while the Liberal government signs an agreement that has been widely criticized for its lack of transparency.

"I do research, and every single article I find is really the same thing. I want to know more, but we can't. That makes me angry. This is supposed to be a country where we're all involved, not where they can keep secrets from us," explains Malott.

As for her tender age, Malott says that's all the more reason to get involved.

"We're going to have to live with the Trans-Pacific Partnership in perpetuity if he signs this," she says.

"I'm giving him his letters in person. So, I'm going to give him 1,000 letters, 'Here you go! Big box of letters!'"
