Amherstburg Recognized For Its Baskets

The Town of Amherstburg is getting recognition for its hanging baskets and container plantings.

The town won the 2016 Ontario Parks Association Municipal Floral Display Competition in the category of Best Container Planting and Hanging Baskets category.

The Ontario Parks Association is a non-profit charitable organization that educates parks professionals about industry standards and advocates to protect and enhance parks and open spaces.

"Given the scale of competitors and entries, it was a very proud moment," says Manager of Parks, Green Spaces and Naturalized Areas in Amherstburg, Annette Zahaluk.

Amherstburg is also competing in the 2016 National Edition of Communities in Bloom.  A team of judges visited the town in July.
