Officials with the Municipality of Leamington want residents to go to their website and sign up for a new mass notification system.
Fire Chief Chuck Parson says it'll be used to notify residents in an emergency like a tornado or flood, and it works a lot better than the old system.
"It's always been a challenge, and this system allows us to us to use multiple methods," says Parsons. "In the past, we've only been able to use home phones; now we can notify residents by cellphone, text or email."

Parson says the system will be tested to make sure it's working properly, but he doesn't expect it to be used a lot.
