One Person Burned In East Riverside Fire (VIDEO)

A woman is being treated for first and second degree burns to her upper body after a raging fire at a home on 9565 Manitou Crescent in Windsor on Tuesday evening.

She and her husband have been displaced as the fire caused such extensive damage crews couldn't determine the cause of the fire. However, the Windsor Fire and Rescue Service reports the fire started in the en suite bathroom.

An investigator from the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal will be attending the scene.

In addition to the $400,000 in damage to the house, the fire burned another $100,000 worth of belongings in the single family ranch home including two vehicles.

Crews arrived on scene to the East Riverside area blaze around 7:30pm to heavy smoke billowing from the house and fire ripping through the roof. Firefighters were able to get the flames under control and officials report the fire is out.

Investigators from the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal are expected on the scene Thursday.
