Summer Fest Aiming To Entertain

Windsor's Summer Fest is focused on offering more for free this year.

Windsor Parade Corporation Director Maggie Durocher says there will be a new Kidz Zone at the Riverfront Festival Plaza.

"[The kids] come in, we've got a chalk zone so you can do some drawing, there's going to be colouring, airbrush tattoos," she explains. "We've also got character meet and greets every weekend. Someone told me Batman was going to be here."

Durocher says there will be magicians teaching the kids tricks, dog shows, water shows, marching bands, jugglers and more that you'll be able to see for free over the course of the 17-day festival.

She adds that tickets for the fireworks dinner are selling much faster this year than in previous years, and thinks social media has much to do with that.

Summer Fest starts June 17 and will run until July 3, with the fireworks planned to go off on the evening of June 27.
