Grad Students Agree To U-Pass

Graduate students at the University of Windsor are joining a deal with Transit Windsor, which will see them have access to city buses for just $66 per semester.

It's the new U-Pass, which will be in effect this fall.

Graduate Student Society President Iftekhar Basith was happy to see that his members voted 74% in favour of it, through an online referendum held Monday and Tuesday.

"I believe this will have a positive impact on students lives," he says. "Especially international [students], and other students who need a bus pass."

Basith explains that 60% of grad students at the university are from other countries, and more than 90% of them rely heavily on public transit.

Undergraduate students at UWindsor already agreed to the U-Pass back on March 17.
