Sunshine Lists Start To Come Out

Some public sector employers are starting to come out with the list of employees who made over $100,000 in 2015.

According to the Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act all organizations that receive public funding must make public the names, positions and salaries of all employees making over $100,000 by March 31.

In the City of Windsor 641 employees made the list including police officers, fire fighters, and management staff. The highest paid employee with the city is Police Chief Al Frederick who made $271,455.40, followed by CAO Helga Reidel who earned $267,676.98.

Both school boards also released their lists today. At the Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board superintendents, principals, vice principals and secondary school department heads make up the list of 201 employees. Director of Education Paul Picard had the top salary with $231,259.54. At the Greater Essex County District School Board there are 203 employees on the list. Director of Education Erin Kelly made $207,444.65.

There are 183 employees on the list at Windsor Regional Hospital. CEO David Musyj tops that list earning $420,468.58 in 2015.

Youth volunteers practice coastal conservation

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
