Major Seacliff Drive Study Underway

The County of Essex is moving forward with a major $250,000 study of Seacliff Dr. between Leamington and Kingsville.

An environmental assessment is being handled by Dillon Consulting as the county looks at potential improvements to the southern corridor.

Warden Tom Bain says the study is key to ensuring the roadway is up to snuff in serving industry in the area.

"That's a major corridor along the waterfront and extremely important in the area of tourism with winery businesses and the boating industry out there," says Bain.

The study will help the county decide how to go about future repairs to the roadway.

"The road is not in the best of shape for sure," says Bain. "We've known that it needs work to it."

A public open house on the study is set for the spring, but no firm date has been set as of yet.
