Two kittens so "horribly infected and swollen" that they nearly lost their eyesight are now ready to be adopted.
They came to the Windsor/Essex County Humane Society from the Trading Post on Pelee Island, a business known for its cats that greet customers.

After months of treatment Merlot and Chardonnay, who are now six months old, have both greatly improved and haven't lost their sight.
Both are ready for adoption and since they've been together their whole lives, the humane society wants to place them in one home.
Although the virus is under control, it remains contagious to other cats, therefore Merlot and Chardonnay should be placed in a home without any other felines.
This condition also requires lifelong monitoring and the cats may need eye surgery at some point down the road.
