The Town of Essex has reached a four year agreement with its employees. The CUPE group and council have ratified a new deal for 58 full and part-time employees working in all areas of the town's operations. "I felt that the negotiations went very, very well and we've established a good working relationship with the union as a result," says Essex CAO Russ Phillips. The contract includes a 1.5% wage increase in each of the four years of the contract and nominal benefit increases. The previous contract expired in December 2015.
