The City of Windsor and the Town of Tecumseh say they'll abide by a judge's ruling that it's campaign encouraging not-for-profit agencies to opt out of a lawsuit goes too far.
The court has ordered Windsor and Tecumseh to stop distributing information about the campaign other than what exists now. A website dedicated to the campaign now includes links to the class action lawyers' websites.
A release from the City says it is "reviewing the court's direction, but respect the decision and will abide by it unless a higher court directs otherwise."
The legal action over charity bingo license fees could cost Windsor $70-million and Tecumseh, at least, $7-million.
