Jersey Theft Suspect Arrested

Windsor police have arrested a man in connection with the theft of five autographed jerseys from Windsor Minor Hockey.

Police were able to identify one of two suspects from video surveillance at Adie Knox Arena from the night of January 3. The 35-year-old Windsor man is also charged in connection with two other incidents of break and enter and a theft.

The theft occurred on Saturday December 19 at retirement home on Erie St. A silver lock box containing photos, jewelry and a small quantity of cash was stolen from one of the residents.

The suspect is also linked to a break and enter on December 23 at a residence in the 200-block of California Avenue where several items including jewelry and cash were stolen. The second break and enter happened on January 1 at an apartment building on Park St. where the office was entered and cash and cheques were stolen.

He was arrested on January 5 and is charged with three counts of break and enter and one charge of theft.

All of the stolen property, including the autographed jerseys, is still outstanding. Windsor police say the second suspect in the Adie Knox Arena break-in is still at large.
