OPP cruiser, November 26, 2015 (Photo by Maureen Revait) Cleanup crews have their hands full after a vehicle sheared a hydro pole in half Monday morning.
OPP were called to County Rd. 11 (Walker Rd.) between Alma St. and South Malden Rd in Essex at about 6:45am.
Police say a pickup truck hit a hydro pole, snapping it in half and causing wires to be strewn across the road. No other vehicles were involved.
The area was closed for several hours while crews cleaned up the mess, but has since reopened.
Alan Smith will begin his new role with the municipality on July 20.
