Amherstburg resident Jim McGuire is giving County of Essex council more to think about when it comes to setting speed limits and installing stop signs on county roads.
McGuire is fed up with, what he sees as, low speed limits and too many stop signs in the county.
"You know how much road rage this causes with people getting pounded down with all these stop signs and ridiculously low speed limits? It just drives you crazy," says McGuire. "If you've got to get from point 'A' to point 'B' which is a ten minute ride, it takes you half an hour. It's craziness."
McGuire says low speed limits and too many stops signs are making his trips from Amherstburg to his farm in Maidstone "cumbersome."
"Now it seems to be every once or twice a year there's a road that's being squeezed down to 50km/h, 60km/h whatever it is, for what seems to be no reason at all," says McGuire.
Council seemed to take the message to heart on Wednesday night, sending a report back to administration for further review which was looking to reduce speed limits on four county roads.
County Engineer Tom Bateman stressed to council speed limits are set on "sound engineering protocols" and individual traffic reviews.
