Local Companies Thinking Globally

The Windsor Essex Economic Development Corporation is helping local businesses find ways to expand overseas.

A delegation from Vietnam spoke in Windsor recently, and CEO of RF Kinetics Inc. Steve Livneh says setting up shop in the far east would allow his company to reach other parts of the globe more easily.

"We're looking to set up an assembly compenent in a much more low-cost area (than Windsor-Essex), and Vietnam seems to be a reasonable place to consider."

Livneh's company makes minimally invasive medical devices.

He says, with new trade deals like the Trans Pacific Partnership and others that have already been signed out east, the need to globalize is becoming more apparent.
