Masse Keeps Windsor West Orange (VIDEO)

No other candidate came close to challenging NDP Brian Masse as he keeps hold of his seat in Windsor West.

Preliminary Elections Canada results show Masse with 51.1% of the vote. Liberal David Sundin snagged 25.5% of voters and Conservative Henry Lau trailed with 20.8%.

Masse says he's happy about being elected for his sixth term, but isn't pleased his party fell to 38 seats across Canada.

"For whatever reason the platform that we have didn't resonate as well as what we thought it would," he says. "So, we have to take responsibility for that as a party."

There's a willingness to work with the majority Liberals, but Masse says he also has some hesitation.

"In the past, traditionally the Liberals have ran as New Democrats basically during the election campaign and then turned right and governed the country similar to the Conservatives," Masse says. "So we'll see how they come out the gate."
