While they didn't fair well overall in the election, NDP support has grown in Windsor-Essex.
NDP Candidate Tracey Ramsey has unseated Essex Conservative Incumbent Jeff Watson to take over the riding at the Federal level. It completes what Ramsey says is the "orange wave" with fellow NDP's Brian Masse and Cheryl Hardcastle.
"The momentum here in Essex never fell off for us. We just kept going no matter what the polls were showing. We concentrated on voters and just pushed forward. Really our gameplan didn't change."
Speaking of change, Conservative Jeff Watson will have to get used to it over the next few weeks, as he plans for life after parliament for the first time since 2004. He says the "appetite for change" clearly set in across the country.
"It's a powerful and potent force. I don't think there's anything you can do to stop that once it gets going."

Ramsey came away with about 41% of the vote, with Watson in second, gathering 25%. The Liberal's Audrey Festeryga came in third with just over 20%.
