The Federal NDP candidate in the Sarnia-Lambton riding is Jason McMichael. The 41-year-old McMichael was born and raised in Sarnia. He attended the University of Windsor for Political Science and then Lambton College for business. He's been a Canada Customs officer since 2000 and has served as national Vice-President of the Customs and Immigration Union for the past six years. McMichael is actively involved in the Sarnia-Lambton community. He's a director for the Bluewater Health Foundation, and volunteers at Lambton County Developmental Services and Brights Grove Public School. McMichael says some of the big issues locally include jobs, and respect for seniors and aboriginal people. He says an NDP government would introduce a small business tax credit, bring back door to door mail delivery, and launch an affordable child care plan.
