School construction has ended for some public board students, but is just beginning for others.
After three years of construction crews on site, the new Essex District High School is finally complete.
"Everybody will be getting use to the new wing that wasn't complete last year, the arts area," according to spokesperson Scott Scantlebury.
He says it ends a four phase project.
"It's going to be an interesting year at Tecumseh Vista Academy," says Scantlebury.
There are 450 new secondary school students, but work is still underway to complete the new classrooms for them. It won't be ready until the beginning of the second semester in February.
Work begins at Herman Secondary School next Monday to create space for new elementary school students, turning it into a JK to Grade 12 school.
The new Leamington District Secondary School is expected to go to tender later this fall.
