The Friends of Ojibway continue to fight Coco Paving's effort to build big box stores on land abutting the park.
Head of Fundraising and Outreach Renee Trepanier says there's more at stake than just the immediate environmental impacts.
"Are we just going to pull customers and money away from the Walker (Road) area, from Devonshire Mall?" She asks, "(The City of Windsor is) only so big and we're in a bit of a blight, so are we going to put up another big box to then see it be vacant five-to-ten years from now?"
Trepanier was joined by other Friends of Ojibway members for a rally at Windsor City Hall Monday morning.
She says witnesses are presenting their case to the Ontario Municipal Board today in city council chambers.
