Horwitz Makes Conservative Run

Larry Horwitz is looking to go up against NDP incumbent Brian Masse for the Windsor West seat in parliament.

The former mayoral candidate and current Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association Chair announced Wednesday afternoon out front of the Paul Martin building he would seek the Conservative nomination.

"I am a fighter. I fight against all odds. I make things happen against all odds. Brian Masse is great for Canada. I am great for Windsor," says Horwitz. "I am Windsor first. Everything I do fights for Windsor, jobs for the community and for a better city."

Horwitz ran for the Liberals in Windsor West in the 2008 federal election and lost to Masse.

"I ran for the Liberals because I grew up as a Herb Gray Liberal. He was my hero. He was my neighbour. He was a great man. The Liberals are not the same Liberals that I ran for," says Horwitz.

The Conservatives haven't yet set a nomination meeting. Horwitz so far is the only candidate for the party in the riding.

The NDP's Masse is currently the only candidate running in the riding.
