BIA Has Problem With Night Market

The Town of Kingsville is debating downtown parking fees for businesses, as its Business Improvement Association wants to charge the new night market.

Mayor Nelson Santos says the BIA's complaining that businesses pay for parking spots now occupied by the Kingsville Night Market once a month.

"You can't say you're not in support of charging parking fees for new uses that are requiring more parking lots, and then all of a sudden say you want to charge another local business for parking spaces for a one-night-a-month issue," explains Santos. "So that's why we're having that dialogue."

Santos thinks not charging the night market for parking spaces has been a win for businesses in the area, as they've been thriving off of foot traffic during the events.
