Those planning on walking and rocking around some good bands and trendy art are in for a treat this weekend. Walkerville BIA coordinator Veronica Samek says the 13th annual Walkverville Art Walk and Rock has many new elements. "This year we actually have Destroyer playing, which is a Kiss cover band on Friday night at 8pm," she says. "And on Saturday night, Liverpool Echo will be on the stage blasting out Beatles tunes." Samek says they're trying to have engaging activities all along Wyandotte from Gladstone to Devonshire. "We'll have live mural paintings. We'll have over-size games," she says. "We have Playfest happening at the Olde Walkerville Theatre." The festival starts Friday at 5pm. Blackburn Radio will also be giving out Taylor Swift concert tickets over the weekend.
