A 31-year-old Windsor man is charged with the luring and abduction of a 12-year-old girl from Amherstburg.
Police arrested the man after the 12-year-old girl went missing Friday morning. Police allege she had fled her home, and was waiting for the 31-year-old to pick her up.
Officials say the man had been developing the relationship with the girl in person, and through text, since January. On several occasions, the man picked the girl up from school, without her parents' knowledge.
The man is charged with luring a person under 14 years old, invitation to sexual touching, and abduction.
He's being held in custody until his bail hearing.
