Update: TRW Ratifies New Agreement

Unionized workers at TRW Automotive have ratified a new three-year agreement.

The members of Unifor Local 444 voted 88% in favour at their ratification vote in Windsor Sunday.

TRW was the first of four auto parts suppliers targeted in collective bargaining with the union. More than 90% of members voted.

Talks with Dakkota Integrated Systems reached a tentative deal in collective bargaining at 7am Monday.

There was some confusion regarding the ratification vote for Dakkota workers.  A message on Facebook appeared to suggest the deal had been reached and there was a ratification meeting Sunday following the meeting for TRW workers.  Unifor Local 444 President Dino Chiodo says the meeting was scheduled in the event a tentative contract was reached in time for Sunday's deadline, but talks went a day longer than planned.  The date and time of the ratification vote for workers at Dakkota will be released soon.

Unifor Local 444 is also working to reach collective agreements with HPBO and Oakley Industries.  Chiodo says union officials will sit down with management at Oakley Tuesday.
