Ride For Dad Kicks Off

The 10th Annual Ride For Dad campaign is underway, with the event scheduled about a week earlier this year.

Prostate cancer survivor and Ride Captain Ian Bentley hopes that the new date of May 24 will mean more riders raising awareness and funds for prostate cancer. "Last year, we were kind of at the same time as the Detroit Grand Prix, the diving competition, and I think there was a music festival going on. So I think it detracted from the ride a little bit," says Bentley. "This year, there's nothing going on in that time span."

The goal for this year's ride is to reach 1,000 participants and raise $75,000. Last year, the event saw about 650 bikers take part.

Seattle Seahawks Tight End and LaSalle native Luke Willson has been named this 2015 Celebrity Ride Captain.
