UPDATE: Spits Draft Gabriel Vilardi

The Windsor Spitfires have used their second overall pick in the OHL draft to select centre Gabriel Vilardi.

The 6'2'', 185 pound 15-year-old comes to Windsor from the Canadian International Hockey Academy, playing for their minor midget team in Rockland. There he scored 18 goals and added 21 assists to earn one of seven minor hockey "Player Of The Year," awards in Ontario.

The Kingston native helped lead Team Ontario to a gold medal win at the most recent Canada Winter Games, earning 12 points including five goals, in six games.

Windsor used its other 2nd round pick (39) on Kyle Auger, a defenceman who played for the Thunder Bay Kings this past season.
