Essex County Warden Tom Bain is optimistic about the future of this region.
He delivered his state of the county address at the 5th annual Warden's Luncheon today, at the Ciociaro Club in Windsor.
Over the next four years, Bain says the region needs to key in on community development and fundamentals, like continuing its 'pay as you go' program, which has allowed the county to keep its books balanced. "What we do is, we put in those reserves. Then we're able to, as the needs come along, pay for them without incurring a lot of interest in purchasing."
Bain believes there is a lot of great work being done in Windsor-Essex, but says community leaders need to work together in order to make it thrive, economically.
One example given by the Warden is regarding the new site selection process for a new mega-hospital. He says all communities simply have to get behind the idea of better health care, and trust the process, not fight over locations.
