Everest College Closing In Ontario

Everest College is shutting down its campuses across Ontario effective immediately after an independent regulator suspended its license to operate in the province.

Government officials "are on the ground at every Everest College campus" providing information to students about the next steps and how to apply for a refund.

Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities Reza Moridi says in a statement, "I was saddened to hear the news today out of Everest College," says Moridi. "Our government is committed to helping impacted students and staff and supporting them through this difficult time."

The National Association of Career Colleges is thanking other schools that will be stepping up to help the displaced students in this "unfortunate situation."

Students with questions or concerns can call the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities at 416-314-0500 or toll free at 1-866-330-3395.

Back in July of last year, the college's troubled U.S. parent company was looking to sell off or close campuses in Ontario.
