Organizers of this year's Windsor Classic Street Hockey Challenge have decided to call this Sunday's event off.
The challenge, on Riverside Dr., raises money for the Downtown Mission in Windsor, but the director of development and community relations says the weather isn't cooperating. "It might reach minus 30-somthing with the wind chill," says Ron Dunn. "We felt that's just a little too cold to be getting our friends out there to play hockey."
Last year's event attracted up to 200 hockey players and raised $20,000 for the Mission, but registration is down this year.
Dunn says organizers are considering holding the event later this spring or summer instead.
