Police Take Bullying Very Seriously

Windsor's police chief is sending a clear message that bullying, whether in-person or online, is a very serious offence.

Bullying isn't something that may result in a detention, suspension or slap on the wrist, Al Frederick says it could affect your future. "Bullying can lead to a criminal offence and bullying of any type, for any reason is bordering on an infraction of the Criminal Code," says Frederick.

Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week runs until November 22.

"It's led to suicides as we are all acutely aware," says Frederick. "Bullying is an offence in my view and we have investigated in the past allegations of bullying that have crossed the threshold into criminal behaviour."
