Increase In Daytime B&Es

The Amherstburg Police Service reports an increase in daytime break and enters across the community.

Police believe the suspects, both male and female, are of Eastern European descent. They drive around the neighbourhood in a newer vehicle looking for an open garage or front door, and residents just leaving their homes or doing yard work.

Investigators ask anyone to give them a call if they see suspicious activity. Police say a vehicle driving up and down the street several times, someone waiting in a parked vehicle for an extended period or delivering pamphlets door-to-door would qualify as suspicious activity.

Call Senior Constable Shawn McCurdy with information at 519-736-3622 or call Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477 (TIPS).
