Sting sign Matthew Andersen

The Sarnia Sting have announced that they've signed Matthew Anderson to the team.

The hockey club and the defenceman agreed to an Ontario Hockey League Scholarship and Development Agreement on Monday.

"Matthew is a player our scouts raved about last season. His physical game and level of competitiveness he plays with each game is very hard to find," said Sting General Manager Dylan Seca.

"He has progressed very well with the [Sarnia] Legionnaires," Seca added, praising the GOJHL team's staff as well as the player himself.

The 5'11", 165-pound Newmarket, Ontario native spent the 2022-2023 season with the Legionnaires. He has 5 goals and 15 assists in 35 games this season.

Anderson was drafted by the Sting as the 177th pick in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection.
