Sting ship Campbell to Kitchener for draft picks

The Sarnia Sting have traded a young defenceman to the Kitchener Rangers in exchange for a pair of draft picks.

The Sting announced Monday that Carson Campbell has been traded to Kitchener for a 5th and 8th round pick in the 2026 OHL Priority Selection.

Campbell, 17, appeared in 23 games for the Sting during the 2022-23 campaign where he recorded no points and was a minus 9.

In a media release, Sarnia Sting General Manager Dylan Seca said this trade gives Campbell the opportunity he deserves.

We’ve seen some progression from some other defencemen within our group and believe this is best for Carson’s development," said Seca. "We wish Carson all the best in Kitchener.”

Campbell, a native of Campbellford, was previously selected in the 3rd round of the 2022 OHL Priority Selection.
