Sarnia-native and former Sting goaltender Justin Fazio will represent Italy at the upcoming World Hockey Championship in Latvia.
Fazio, who has a dual Italian-Canadian citizenship, was one of 23 skaters and one of three goaltenders named to the Italian national team this week. Italy begins its tournament Friday versus Germany.
Fazio, 24, appeared in 15 games for Bolzano HC in the Austrian Hockey League this season. He posted a record of 7-7 with a goals against average of 2.28 and a save percentage of .909.
Over four seasons with the Sarnia Sting, from 2014 to 2018, Fazio posted a 92-62-10-3 record with a 3.26 GAA and .900 save percentage.
