Nolan DeGurse scored twice and added two assists as the Sarnia Legionnaires (9-10-1-2) beat the visiting Komoka Kings (7-12-1-2) 5-3 in GOJHL hockey action on Thursday.
Josh Barraclough had a goal and a helper.
Joseph Ferrera, and Tristen Konrad rounded out the scoring for the Legionnaires.
DeGurse got the Legionnaires out to a quick 1-0 lead with a goal 19 seconds into the opening frame. The Kings tied the contest late in the period with a powerplay goal.
Sarnia scored twice in the second, and two more times in the third to pull ahead 5-1. The Kings netted a pair of late goals to make the final 5-3.
The Legionnaires scored twice on four powerplays and gave up two goals on seven times shorthanded.
Legionnaires goalie Nolan DeKoning stopped 31 of 34 shots, while Nathan Young turned aside 23 of 28 shots in the Kings' crease.
With the win, the Legionnaires are tied with Chatham for fifth place in the Western Conference with 21 points.
The Legionnaires host first place London next Thursday night on CHOK.
