Sting trade overager Martin to Steelheads

The Sarnia Sting have traded overage forward Calvin Martin to the Mississauga Steelheads for an eighth round pick in 2023.

Martin, 20, was signed by the Sting in September of 2018 following an impressive training camp with the club.

The Peterborough, Ontario native suited up in 76 games over two seasons with the Sting, scoring 19 goals and adding 27 assists during that span.

The move comes just four days after the Sting picked up 20-year-old OA goaltender Dylan Myskiw off waivers from the WHL’s Edmonton Oil Kings.

The Sting currently have four OAs, including Ryan McGregor, Sean Josling, and defenceman Kelton Hatcher.
