Sting beat the Knights in OHL preseason action.

Following a 5-2 loss in London Friday the Sarnia Sting beat the Knights 5-3 in Sarnia Saturday night in Ontario Hockey League preseason play.

Jamieson Rees opened the scoring for the Sting halfway through the first period.

London countered with a goal from Paul Cotter six minutes later.

Ryan McGregor and Sean Josling scored for the Sting in the second frame before Gerald Keane replied for the Knights.

Paul Cotter notched his second goal of the game for London in the third to tie the game but less than a minute later Sarnia's Jacob Perreault's goal put the Sting back in the lead.

67 seconds later Nolan Dann potted an insurance goal.

Ethan Langevin turned aside 35 shots for Sarnia.

The Sting were one for four on the power play while the Knights scored twice on eleven power play chances.

Sarnia is idle until Thursday September 12 when they host the Soo Greyhounds at the Chatham Memorial Arena.
