The Sarnia Sting will choose seventh overall, and have a total of 15 picks, in Saturday's Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection.
Notable Sting picks in 2018 included 30 goal scorer Jacob Perreault, Nolan Dillingham, Nolan Burke, and Theo Hill.
GM Nick Sinclair said they'll be looking to improve in all areas.
He said they will target the best player available in the first few rounds.
"We're looking at every area of our team and know there are some specific needs that need to be addressed," said Sinclair. "In saying that, these are all 15-year-old kids turning 16 and it's about the marathon not the sprint. No matter who we pick on Saturday, we're not expecting any of these guys to come in and fix any of the problems that we had last year."
Sinclair said they've been working hard to prepare.
"These final couple of days leading into the draft are more to go over some specific lists and key on some areas like player interviews and feedback that we've been receiving in the past couple of weeks."
The Kingston Frontenacs will have the first overall pick and are expected to take Shane Wright from the Don Mills Flyers.
He's the first player since Sean Day to be granted exceptional status.
