The Sarnia Sting lost 5-1 in Saginaw giving the Spirit a two games to none lead in the best of seven OHL quarterfinals. Damien Giroux opened the scoring for Saginaw at the 5:42 mark of the first period. Three minutes later Cole Perfetti made it 2-0. Late in the second frame the Spirit's Owen Tippett scored with assists from Giroux and Perfetti. Bode Wilde scored for Saginaw at 1:43 of the third period before Jacob Perreault tallied for Sarnia midway through the frame. Giroux would score the Spirit's final goal at 14:17. Ethan Langevin stopped 44 of 49 shots for Sarnia while Ivan Prosvetov blocked 37 shots. Saginaw was three for eight on the power play. The Sting were scoreless during five power plays. Game three of the series is Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. in Sarnia. The pregame show starts at 6:35 p.m. on 103.9 FM - 1070 AM CHOK.
