Sarnia Rapids 2 swimmer strikes gold at Ofsaa

A member of the Sarnia Rapids 2 swim team struck gold this week at the OFSAA championships in Toronto.

On Tuesday, Shona Branton, 16, claimed top spot in the 100 breaststroke, taking nearly two seconds off her best time.

Branton, who swims for Wallaceburg high school, swam a short course time of 1:09.90.

Two other Sarnia Rapids 2 swimmers are also competing in Toronto.

Maddi Hawryluk, 15, placed 13th in 100 breaststroke, and Kayla Marshall placed 30th in 100 backstroke.

Maddi and Kayla swim for Sarnia Northern high school.
