Hockey season is back for a pair of Provincial Junior Hockey League (PJHL) teams in the Bill Stobbs Division.
About 40 skaters are expected when the Petrolia Flyers hit the ice Friday night and Saturday morning in Watford, with their first exhibition game set for Saturday against North Middlesex in Strathroy.
After a successful first season in Petrolia, General Manager Dennis Meston says guys are looking forward to getting back at it.
"It's great to see how many of the guys have been out to skates throughout the summer, they're eager to get started and build on last year."
Petrolia finished the season with a 7-33-0 record, good for eighth in the Stobbs Division, they ended losing in the first round to the highly favoured Lakeshore Canadiens.
Mooretown Flags kicked off their training camp Thursday night, and begin their exhibition schedule Sunday night on the road against Port Stanley.
This will be the first year behind the Mooretown bench for Jordan Pennisi, who coached the Lambton Jr Sting Minor Midgets the last few seasons. He's a former coach and player with the hockey club.
