Flyers Drop Overtime Decision In Wheatley

The Petrolia Flyers were able to force overtime, but eventually dropped a 4-3 overtime decision in Wheatley Monday night.

Trailing 3-2 in the final minute and with the goalie pulled for the extra attacker, Kirklin Dorman scored his 16th goal of the season to tie the game and force overtime with 43 seconds left.

The Sharks scored the winner just 48 seconds into overtime to give them the 4-3 win, their second win over the Flyers in less than a week.

Alec Segers and Bert Thorpe also scored for Petrolia, while Chaska Thiel stopped 25 of 29 shots.

The Flyers' are 7-28-0, good for the eighth and final in the PJHL's Stobbs Division.

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
