Los Angeles avoided the 3-0 hole with a 2-1 overtime win over San Jose, Tanner Pearson scored the winner.
Tonight, Detroit will try to even its series against Tampa Bay, Pittsburgh faces the Rangers with the series tied 1-1 and Nashville will try and go up 3-0 in Anaheim.

John Lackey enjoyed his return to St. Louis striking out 11 over seven innings against his former club as the Cubs shutout the Cardinals 5-0. Giancarlo Stanton belted a solo homer and had two RBIs as the Marlins whipped Washington 6-1. Former Blue Jays prospect Noah Syndergaard struck out eight ain the Mets' 5-2 victory over the Phillies, he was part of the RA Dickey trade.
The Minnesota Twins have hired former manager Ron Gardenhire as a special assistant to general manager Terry Ryan. The team fired Gardenhire in 2014 after Minnesota finished that season 70-92. He spent 27 years in the Twins organization, including 13 years as manager.

Detroit Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy has been fined $25,000 for public criticism of officiating. Van Gundy made his comments in a live television interview during Sunday's loss at Cleveland.
